Business Development Manager – Pharmaceutical Packaging

A global Pharmaceutical Packaging organisation is seeking a Business Development professional to support the expansion of its polymer syringe business.

This newly created role will focus on identifying and developing new business opportunities, with an initial focus on biotechnology companies across key US markets. The successful candidate will build relationships with emerging and mid-sized biotech organisations, engage directly with customers, and help grow the company’s presence in the market.

The role requires a technically minded, commercially driven individual who can confidently engage with senior stakeholders, including C-suite contacts. Regular travel will be required to meet customers, develop relationships, and uncover new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new business opportunities within the biotech and pharmaceutical markets
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders
• Identify market opportunities and support business growth strategies
• Engage with technical and commercial teams to provide customer-focused solutions
• Represent the organisation at customer sites and industry meetings

Requirements:

• Technical degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s preferred) in areas such as engineering, biomedical engineering, materials science, polymer science, chemistry, or a related discipline
• Experience within pharmaceutical, medical technology, primary packaging, or related industries
• Strong technical understanding combined with commercial ability
• Professional communication skills with the confidence to engage senior decision-makers
• Willingness to travel extensively and spend time with customers onsite
